I don’t mind the Hue app but I mange my home in Apple Home app, so the 2 bridge limitations are only really seen in the case of Alexa so on its own it’s a mild frustration.Simple to get started: Set the mood with 50,000 shades of tuneable white light. Most of the time its related to a turn or kink but if the strips can’t make any turns or even hold us to cautions “turning” they are almost worthless. I went and bought a new bridge to get my house back up and running and after a few hours got everything set up. After back and forth with Philips they said the bridge was broken and I have had to send my receipt several times to see if they would replace it. Every third-party app could find it, could see it and all of the rules still worked.

The Groups work fine now but as of two weeks ago I’ve begun to have a large number of issues with Hue to the point where I don’t see buying another product from them.Ī firmware update bricked my bridge, the Hue app no longer could see or control my bridge. Alexa still discovers my bulbs on my 2nd bridge so I just went through and disabled them, if you remove them the next time you ask Alexa to discover it will re-add them. The lights on my 2nd bridge have become discoverable after enabling the SmartThings Skill and the grouping works fine. So I was able to “Solve” this issue using my Smart Things V3 hub and adding my 2nd hue Bridge to that.
